CHAMPIONSHIP GEAR TO GIANTS FANS

Production and Shipping Challenged by Storm
 
Majestic Athletic's mission statement is "we outfit fantastic moments." For San Francisco Giants fans, one of the most fantastic moments is the World Series Championship parade. Hurricane Sandy posed unprecedented challenges for Majestic, the official uniform of Major League Baseball, to meet its goal of having a wide assortment of World Series Championship on hand for victory parade revelers.
 
Much of Majestic's Major League Baseball apparel, including World Series Championship jerseys, fleece and outerwear, is made and decorated in Easton, Pennsylvania, right in Sandy's path.
 
"Ordinarily we would wait until the final out to start production and then work around-the-clock while coordinating with shipping companies. We would have San Francisco well stocked within 24 hours," said Jim Pisani, President Majestic Athletic. "But by noon Sunday, airports were closing and we didn’t know how long our facilities would have power."
 
Just like Sergio Romo stepped in for Brian Wilson, Majestic had to improvise to save the Giants postseason rush. "Our team showed their dedication to Baseball. Despite the storm, they came in Sunday and started working on Giants products," said Pisani.
 
"It was a very complex situation. Most importantly we wanted our team members to make sure their families were safe and prepared for the storm. At the same time, our business depends on timely delivery for fans, the Giants and Major League Baseball."
 
While product was flowing Sunday, West Coast shipping options were shrinking. So Majestic, which ordinarily does not do their own shipping, lined up its own trucks and sent them west. The original plan was to deliver the goods to Pittsburgh where they could be loaded onto planes. But, with airport conditions rapidly deteriorating at Pittsburgh, Majestic rerouted its trucks 812 miles away to Nashville.
 
From Nashville, the product was aired to San Francisco, with the official gear in stores just in time for the Giants parade. While the Majestic team will keep up production to satisfy all Giants fans, they will also start focusing on helping the Lehigh Valley recover from the storm.

MAJESTIC AND FOUR CLUBS PARTNER TO ALLOW FANS TO DESIGN OFFICIAL MLB T-SHIRTS
Fan Voting Decided Best of Team Designs
 
Ever thought it would be fun to design a Major League Baseball T-shirt? This summer, Majestic Athletic invited fans and artists alike to do so through national contests with the Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds, Washington Nationals, and San Francisco Giants.
 
"Every team has its own, unique local meaning, we wanted fans to use their own creativity to show how they see their favorite club's personality. We've received 680 submissions and no two were alike," said Jim Pisani, Majestic Athletic President.
 
Submissions were accepted in the form of a simple sketch, a saying or catchphrase, or a finished work of art. Majestic, MLB and the clubs worked to narrow down to three finalists in each market, and fans voted on their favorite designs.
 
Winning artists are now seeing their ideas come alive. In addition, to seeing their designs on shirts, winners are being honored with game experience and other prizes.

MAJESTIC BASEBALL STORE OPENS FOR ALL-STAR RUSH
 
Majestic, the official uniform of the Royals and Major League Baseball, is opening the Majestic Baseball Store, the company’s first ever pop-up shop today on the Plaza.
 
"Kansas City is the ideal location for our first retail venture. There is deep passion for Baseball and we’ve already seen tremendous sales of Majestic All-Star gear. We expect the entire region to be energized from now through the All-Star Game itself," said Jim Pisani, President of Majestic and a former Kansas City resident.
 
The store, located at 340 W 47th, features Majestic jerseys, tees and other Major League Baseball Authentic Collection items.
 
"Whether a fan is looking for a commemorative tee-shirt or on an on-field jersey, they will find it at the Majestic Baseball Store," Pisani added.
 
Majestic is partnering on the store with Lenexa-based Rally House.

NEW MAJESTIC AD INVITES FANS TO WEAR THEIR HERO
Fans Carry David Ortiz and Jose Bautista on Their Backs
 
Majestic Athletic, the official on-field uniform of Major League Baseball, will debut its new 'Wear Your Hero' ads this week. The quirky campaign, featuring perennial All-Star David Ortiz and defending Home Run Champion Jose Bautista, literally has those stars on the backs of fans.
 
During the filming, crowds gathered and traffic stopped as fans tried to see whether it was actually "Big Papi" in full Majestic uniform (See Link: Players Wandering Downtown). "My favorite part of filming would have to be the looks on all the people's faces as I'm actually being worn down the street, they didn't know what to think," said the Red Sox's Ortiz.
 
"I feel honored when fans choose to wear my jerseys. It gives me a great sense of pride," said the Toronto Blue Jays' Bautista. "Filming this commercial was great. It was a fun way to show my fans how much I appreciate their support."
 
"At Majestic, we are making it stylish for fans to show the pride they have for baseball. Whether at the park or around town, there's no better way to show off that pride than in a Majestic jersey," said Jim Pisani, president of VF Licensed Sports Group.

Majestic Athletic, the official on-field uniform of Major League Baseball, will debut the Featherweight Tech Fleece during the 2012 MLB season. The Featherweight is the newest addition to the MLB Authentic Collection™, and the sixth Majestic garment supported by MLB. It is designed out of a lightweight fleece that offers thermal protection from the weather, but also ensures an uninhibited range of motion during training.
 
The Featherweight is a high performance garment using Majestic’s Therma Base™ technology engineered to provide comfort, breathability, insulation and stretch. The new piece provides greater versatility for players with its media pocket and headphone eyelet, while enabling players to remain protected from the elements in performance fabric.
 
Development of the product began when the Majestic® Authentic Collection Design Team observed MLB players on and off the field during spring training. Majestic Athletic Becomes the Official Uniform of Australian Baseball
The Australian Baseball Federation (ABF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Majestic Athletic as the 'Official Uniform' of Australian Baseball.
 
In a landmark deal, the three-year appointment will see Australian representative teams don Majestic Uniforms at every international event throughout 2011-2014; and will provide the ABF with the opportunity to develop a range of unprecedented supporter’s apparel and merchandise.
 
This announcement comes as 'Team Australia', the Australian Senior Men’s Baseball Team, embark on their 2011 Baseball World Cup campaign which is scheduled to be held in Panama from 2 to 15 October, 2011. JOSH HAMILTON FEATURED IN AD CAMPAIGN FOR NEW MLB AUTHENTIC
COLLECTION BATTING JERSEY FROM MAJESTIC ATHLETIC
First Majestic Ads Ever to Feature Players
 
Throughout Spring Training, Major Leaguers have been taking the field in the New MLB Authentic Collection Batting Practice Jersey from Majestic Athletic, and now consumers can do the same. Majestic and Major League Baseball Properties are teaming to launch the new jersey with a national television campaign featuring 2010 American League Most Valuable Player Josh Hamilton.

The humorous ad, featuring Hamilton and an overmatched fan taking swings together in the batting cage, is the centerpiece of Majestic’s largest product launch ever. The ad will appear during game broadcasts on FOX, ESPN, TBS, MLB Network, regional sports networks, as well as additional programming on those and other networks.

VF Licensed Sports Group and the National Football League have reached an agreement to extend apparel rights. The new contract, which starts in 2012, marks the 25th anniversary of the VF-NFL partnership which began in 1987. For the first time, VF will gain international NFL rights.
